Individual Therapy
Therapy is a collaborative process that will assist you to identify unhelpful patterns and behaviors and find healthy ways of coping with life's challenges. I work with individuals seeking help for anxiety, stress management, life transitions, work stress, women's health issues, personal growth, and caregiver fatigue. I believe establishing a genuine and trusting relationship with my clients is essential to the therapeutic process. I aim to create a comfortable and safe space for us to work together to begin movement toward the change you seek, enabling you to live a more fulfilling life aligned with your values and life goals. I consider it a privilege to walk with you on this path. My treatment approach incorporates acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy practices, depending on your needs.
Mindfulness Skills Sessions
Mindfulness meditation is a practice in which we bring our attention to the present moment. We can spend a great deal of time focusing on the future or the past, and this causes disconnection from ourselves and others. Only when we slow down and come into the present can we recognize what we need. With mindfulness practice, we can learn to self-soothe, respond to challenges as opposed to react, be more accepting of what is, learn ways to approach life with more calm and clarity, and have compassion for ourselves and others.
As a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, I offer individual sessions focused on learning and practicing mindfulness skills. These are structured sessions, each session with a focus on a particular mindfulness topic/skill. You will walk away with a tool to bring into your daily life after each session.
These sessions have been helpful for many of my clients, including health care professionals, those pursuing fertility treatment, family caregivers, those living with chronic illness, and those with anxiety or stress.
The following are some examples of topics/skills learned in these sessions:
Breath practices
Body scans
Mindful movement
Mindfulness of thoughts
Mindfulness of emotions
Awareness of the senses
Compassion for self and others
Mindful eating
Mindfulness in nature
